Kelly, the winner of 'La Voz' after a play-off: from starting with Alejandro Sanz to giving Laura Pausini the victory

His career goes from Alejandro Sanz's team in Blind Auditions, to the repechage in 'El Regreso' with Miriam Rodríguez to winning in Laura Pausini's team.Kelly came to ‘La Voz’ with only one goal: to win.  The 27-year-old Nigerian artist living in Lleida made it clear from the outset that Alejandro Sanz was his reference and fate wanted him to become his coach.

 The talent performed 'Roxanne', from The Police, at the Blind Auditions and thrilled everyone with her unique and inimitable style, getting all four coaches to tour.  Full!  Kelly, very excited, was lucky to choose who he wanted to go with and, true to his word, he did not hesitate to choose Alejandro Sanz.

 In the Assaults phase, we were able to once again enjoy her talent and the passion she wastes on stage.  Kelly chose the song 'Hotel California' by The Eagles and made it his own in the reagge version.  However, the talent did not obtain the Battles pass but Miriam Rodríguez, the fifth coach, wanted to give it a second chance in ‘El Regreso’, an innovative digital format that comes from the hand of Grupo Catalana Occidente.

 Kelly faced several of his eliminated teammates who were fighting to return to the contest and he gave himself the skin in each of the performances to win over Miriam and convince her that he had to be the chosen one.

 In the first program of ‘El Regreso’ she opted for the theme ‘Grenade’ and went on to the second program after beating Betty Akna and Rufino Oliva.  This time she opted for ‘It’s a man’s man’s mans’ world ’in her battle against Guillem Gené and Sabela Trigo.  Both interpretations earned him so that the fifth coach gave him the opportunity to sing in the Final Phase, facing Sergio Chaves, the other talent who opted for the repechage after being eliminated in the Final Battle.

Kelly did not waste this gift and left his soul performing "Walking on the moon" in the Final Phase.  The public of the program voted because he was the repechage of the program and returned as a full-fledged contestant.  A historical event in ‘La Voz’.  At this time, she became a direct member of Laura Pausini's team after the decision of the talent itself: "I have no doubt, I'm going with Laura Pausini."  Finally, she became the semifinalist of the ‘Pausini Team’ alongside Paula Espinosa after the votes of the set spectators.

In the Semifinal, the program began with the eight talents joining their voices to the rhythm of ‘Otra vez’, a hymn from ‘La Voz’.  Curricé, Paula Espinosa, Miguelichi, Adam Ainouz, Johanna Polvillo, Rafael Ruiz, Roger Padrós and Kelly thrilled the audience while, through different screens, the program remembered the 52 talents who have passed through this edition.

 Before singing individually, the two talents of Laura Pausini's team sang together with their coach ‘The Solution’, starring in one of the most impressive performances of the night.

Ya en solitario, Kelly volvió a sorprender con su particular voz llena de matices y se adelantó a lo que le iba a deparar el destino en ‘La Voz’ interpretando ‘A change is gonna come’. Como dice el título de la canción, un cambio iba a llegar y así ha sido finalmente.

In addition, the talent was able to sing with a very special guest artist.  Together with Beret, they performed the song ‘Sueño’ as a duet, a performance that left the audience totally surprised.  Alongside Curricé, the finalist of Antonio Orozco's team, and Sebastián Yatra, they performed the song 'Where are they going' with great rhythm.  A song that in addition to singing, they were able to dance and lift their spirits throughout the set.

Eva González: "You are the living image of triumph"

 Finally the moment of truth arrived.  Curricé, Johanna Polvillo, Kelly or Paula Espinosa, only one would succeed Andrés Martín as the winner of ‘La Voz’.  After public voting, Johanna and Kelly became the last two finalists and, finally, Eva González proclaimed Kelly as the winner of the edition.  "Second chances can change life," Laura Pausini confessed, very excited.

Without a doubt, Kelly has been the reflection of the struggle and the work, and his career has confirmed that second chances can taste glorious;  "The Voice" opened the door for him again and he climbed to the top of success.  Congratulations Kelly!
