I will try as much as possible to be honest here.
From here in Nigeria, we think the Chinese are smart (intellectually and Trick wise).
They have given loans to most African countries to build railway lines, which was executed by Chinese owned companies . In other words they gave Africa some money, took it back , and now Africa owes them some money. This is not illegal, and by doing that the Chinese have not broken any law. It only shows how smart they are when it comes to making deals. You know sometimes smart people get the better of others in deals.
From here we think the Chinese love cheap labour. We also think they are humble . They always buy from the cheapest source which shows how prudent they are when it comes to money. They are risk takers and they easily integrate into their new environment( I don’t know if it is a buisness strategy) I have seen chinese transact buisness in the most dangerous regions where even some Nigerians might feel reluctant to go.
Finally we also think that the Chinese intentionally manufacture poor quality products which are nevertheless cheap just so you can come back again to patronise them once more.
Cruiserweight Lawrence Okolie made quick work of Nikodem Jezewski, whom he floored three times in a second-round TKO win at The SSE Arena in London on Saturday.
"I will be unified world champion in 2021," Okolie, from London, said after the fight.
Former world titlist Glowacki tested positive for COVID-19, and his fellow Polish fighter Jezewski stepped in on a week's notice, but without the vacant WBO cruiserweight world title on the line.
Okolie (15-0, 13 KOs), 27, who is managed by unified heavyweight titlist Anthony Joshua, showed he has heavyweight power. Okolie floored Jezewski twice in the first round, first with a body shot, then wobbling Jezewski with a straight right before dropping him again.
Okolie predictably dropped Jezewski again in the second round, with a right hand straight to the jaw, and the fight was stopped.
"Glowacki, [WBC champion Ilunga] Makabu, [Mairis] Breidis, Okolie will go through the whole cruiserweight division before going to heavyweight," Matchroom's Eddie Hearn, who promotes Okolie, said.
Okolie is ranked No. 2 with the WBO governing body, his highest ranking among the four bodies, and has yet to fight for a world title.
The Pazo de Meirás, seen here in September, has been turned over to the Spanish state by the heirs of Gen. Francisco Franco. The summer palace in Sada, in the region of Galicia, had been the subject of a contentious lawsuit that the Spanish government won
It has been more than eight decades since Spain's fascist dictator, Gen. Francisco Franco, took possession of the Pazo de Meirás during the civil war that brought him to power.
Since then, the palace in the northwest region of Galicia has served as an opulent summer retreat — first for the dictator himself, then for his family after Franco's death roughly 45 years ago.
Not anymore.
On Thursday, the Spanish government formally seized the palace from Franco's heirs in a simple ceremony that capped a hard-fought legal struggle to expropriate the property.
The moment was a symbolic triumph for Spain's left-wing government — which won possession of the palace in a court ruling in September, and has repeatedly pushed to remove or reclaim other memorials that glorify the dictator's nearly four-decade reign.
Calvo said the government plans to repurpose the palace to educate the public about the dark side of Franco's reign and celebrate the legacy of Emilia Pardo Bazán, the prolific writer whose family previously owned the manor.
Franco's supporters bought the palace and donated it to him in 1938, and his heirs say Franco made a formal 1941 purchase of the property. But in September — ruling in a case brought by the Spanish government in 2019 — Judge Marta Canales found the 1941 sale to be fraudulent and asserted that the palace was not given to Franco, specifically, but rather to the Spanish head of state.
Franco's heirs lost a subsequent appeal of the ruling. They handed over the keys to the manor on Wednesday, one day before the court-ordered deadline.
"Today the circus is celebrated with its clowns," the dictator's grandson, also named Francisco Franco, said in a statement translated by Politico. He added: "We are not going to lend ourselves to this circus."
The eviction at the Pazo de Meirás did not satisfy the Association for the Recovery of Historical Memory, however. The group, which dedicates itself to preserving the memory of Franco's human rights abuses, said Wednesday that the return of the palace "cannot end without a judicial process against those who illegally occupied it and filled it with the fruit of a huge plunder of the state's patrimony."
There is disagreement about how many people fell victim to Franco's repressive regime, though it is widely believed that more than 100,000 people were killed or disappeared during his absolute rule in Spain from the end of its bloody civil war in 1939 until his death in 1975. Yet his legacy remains the subject of significant controversy in the country, particularly in recent years.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has made it a central campaign promise to reevaluate the dictator's memory and how it's marked in official monuments. Last year, after a long, bitter legal battle that reached the country's Supreme Court, the government exhumed Franco's remains from the massive mausoleum northwest of Madrid constructed as his memorial.
Franco's remains were flown by helicopter to a cemetery near the Spanish capital, where he was reinterred next to his wife
Ya en solitario, Kelly volvió a sorprender con su particular voz llena de matices y se adelantó a lo que le iba a deparar el destino en ‘La Voz’ interpretando ‘A change is gonna come’.
In addition, the talent was able to sing with a very special guest artist. Together with Beret, they performed the song ‘Sueño’ as a duet, a performance that left the audience totally surprised. Alongside Curricé, the finalist of Antonio Orozco's team, and Sebastián Yatra, they performed the song 'Where are they going' with great rhythm. A song that in addition to singing, they were able to dance and lift their spirits throughout the set.
Eva González: "You are the living image of triumph"
Finally the moment of truth arrived. Curricé, Johanna Polvillo, Kelly or Paula Espinosa, only one would succeed Andrés Martín as the winner of ‘La Voz’. After public voting, Johanna and Kelly became the last two finalists and, finally, Eva González proclaimed Kelly as the winner of the edition. "Second chances can change life," Laura Pausini confessed, very excited.
Without a doubt, Kelly has been the reflection of the struggle and the work, and his career has confirmed that second chances can taste glorious; "The Voice" opened the door for him again and he climbed to the top of success. Congratulations Kelly!

In our series of letters from African writers, Nigerian journalist and novelist Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani looks at why the Nigerian authorities are worried about social media and its impact in the era of #EndSars protests.
Over the past week, some Nigerian state governors and public officials have called for some sort of regulation of social media, though not a total shutdown.
"Social media has come to stay and it will be an antithesis to democracy to shut it down because it is the fastest way of disseminating information," the country's Information Minister Lai Mohammed assured.
"However, we must regulate social media in a manner that it does not become a purveyor of fake news and hate speech," he said about a bill being debated by the Senate to criminalise the peddling of false and malicious information online.
Under the proposed bill, offences range from transmitting information that is false to information that affects security or causes enmity between people or groups. Punishments will include fines of 300,000 naira ($785; £600) and three years in prison.
Many Nigerians worry that this is simply an attempt to stifle activism and prevent future acts of defiance against the state.
Social media platforms, like Twitter, played a key role in the recent #EndSars anti-police brutality protests that swept across the country for about two weeks, scenes unprecedented in Nigeria's recent history.
Daily convergence times and locations, fundraising, legal aid, and other organisation for the protests were spread via social media.
The first Nigerian-American, Oye Owolewa, to be elected as a US (Shadow) Representatives emerged winner on Wednesday to represent Washington DC.
Owolewa clinch the seat of the US Shadow Representatives with 164,026 votes which represent 82.84% of total votes against Joyce Robinson-Paul, who had 18,600 votes, and Sohaer Syed with 15,372 votes.
Here’s what you need to know about the newly elected Nigerian-US Congressman:
1. Oye Owolewa from Kwara, holds a doctor of philosophy (PhD) degree in Pharmacy from the Northeastern University, Boston.
2. His parents, born and raised in Nigeria, raised him with two (2) guiding principles, a value in community service and an early exposure to science. This exposure became a love for science, culminating in him achieving a Doctorate of Pharmacy.
3. In 2018, Oye was elected commissioner of his neighbourhood in Southeast DC. In this position, he served as the medium between the community and the local government.
4. Oye worked to bring resources to the underserved by advising DC lawmakers based on continued community feedback.
5. Some of Oye’s most notable achievements were increasing science enrichment programs in Southeast elementary schools, adding traffic safety measures and helping bring a Senior Day Center to the neighbourhood.
7. Oye has dedicated his energy to educate and advocate for DC statehood and equality.
8. He participated in the historic March 2019 lobby day, resulting in a majority of the House of Representatives supporting DC Statehood for the first time in American history.
9. Soon after, Oye took his efforts to Annapolis where he joined the effort to end big money’s impact on our lawmaking. DC’s as close as it’s ever been to being a state and Oye is here to finish the fight.
cooking rice in a certain way removes over 50 percent of the naturally occurring arsenic in brown rice, and 74 percent in white rice. Importantly, this new method does not reduce micronutrients in the rice.
Following previous research from the University of Sheffield that found half of the rice consumed in the UK exceeded European Commission regulations for levels of arsenic in rice meant for the consumption for infants or young children.
This new study tested different ways to cook rice to try and reduce the arsenic content and the team from the Institute for Sustainable Food found that by using a home-friendly way of cooking rice, the ‘parboiling with absorption method’ (PBA), most of the arsenic was removed, while keeping most nutrients in the cooked rice.
The PBA method involves parboiling the rice in pre-boiled water for five minutes before draining and refreshing the water, then cooking it on a lower heat to absorb all the water.
Arsenic, which is classified as a Group 1 carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, is water-soluble – so it accumulates in rice, which is grown in flooded fields more than other cereals. Arsenic exposure affects almost every organ in the body and can cause skin lesions, cancer, diabetes, and lung diseases.
Rice is known to accumulate around ten times as much arsenic as other cereals. In rice grains arsenic is concentrated in the outer bran layer surrounding the endosperm. This means that brown rice, (unmilled or unpolished rice that retains its bran) contains more arsenic than white rice. This milling process removes arsenic from white rice but also removes 75-90% of its nutrients.

I want to answer this question as directly as possible. The rise of prevailing crimes in Nigeria may be related to several reasons or factors, it depends on one's perspective. Therefore, I want to mention in my own view just 7 but explain only 5 factors behind the increase occurrence of crimes in my country, Nigeria, and these are:
Below is the explanation
A. Poor Attitude Towards Education: Every responsible government must give utmost priority to business of educating it's people. Nigeria as a country continue to give a very little percentage of it's annual budget (below the proposed and agreed ratio by UN or SDGs/MDGs) to education. Hence, inadequate quantity and poor quality of education is provided to the people.
We need to know that crimes have an inverse relationship with education. This is to say the higher the educated people are, the less the crimes they involved. So, unless Nigeria provide it's people with right quantity and quality education, it will continue to face criminal activities by it's own citizens.
B. Injustice of The Constitutional Authorities: What I want to establish here is this; when judicial system failed people, justice is served with fear or favour (or won by the highest bidder) then, people will be in a state of chaos or barbarism. In Nigeria, many people have lost confidence in the judicial system or in the constitutional authorities, due to one reason or the other e.g. one’s parents or relatives have been murdered in a cold-blood and nothing has been done about that. Such situations may likely turn one heartless and merciless, hence, aggressive or violent.
C. Poverty and High Cost of Living: I want to believe this part does not require much explanation. But, it need to be established that poverty can lead people to become hopeless, also, poverty means people may not afford food to eat, as such they can do anything… I mean anything to get something to eat.
Remember the popular saying that said; “A hungry man is an angry man”. This is to say that a hungry man is not only an angry man but also an aggressive person.
On the other hand, one of the consequences of high cost of living is; it makes people frustrated with government and hence discourages or results in loss of people's loyalty to the government of such country.
D. High Rate of Unemployment: The higher portion affected by unemployment is Youths and most of them are not calm, they are full of energy that requires control, they are usually short of wisdom and patience compared to the elderly groups. Therefore, they can easily be used/ exploited by any enemy of the country (Nigerian or otherwise) to cause crimes that will satisfy his personal selfish gain.
We must remember the saying that said; “An idle mind is the devil's workshop”!
D. Very Porous Border: Nigeria has a very porous and difficult border to patrol with little resources and border security personnels (specifically, Immigration and Customs) it has.
So, terrorists can have their way into Nigeria from every angle and direction of our borderlines (neighbour countries). This has affected Nigeria so much. Nigeria has uncountable routes through which immigrants and smugglers come into the country without legal permission.
Lastly, the security structure of Nigeria is not adequately sufficient. I want to assume that there is no enough synergy between the security operatives. I want to believe that there is also exit some big loopholes or moles in the structure where some vital information used to leak or be mismanaged.
Long Live Nigeria!
